This year is a big year for Royal & Derngate as we celebrate 125 years of The Royal. Our big challenge for our anniversary year is to raise £125,000 of funds for our future artistic programme (we have raised £40,000 so far) and as part of the big fundraising drive, I have taken up the personal challenge of running the Berlin Marathon (Sunday 20th September).
I'm not typically compatible with physical exercise, so running a marathon will definitely be a challenge. So far though, my training is going well and dare I say it, am looking forward to being on the start line. Although, not as much as I am looking forward to finishing!
All of the money that I raise during the marathon will go directly back into the work you can see on the Royal stage (www.royalandderngate.co.uk), giving the theatre the chance to develop the ambition and the scope of the work we do, so please be generous with your donation.
