Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a team we are taking part in Tough Mudder which is a 12 mile endurance event obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie and is billed as “probably the toughest event on the planet".

Through undertaking this team endurance event we are aiming to raise money for Helen & Douglas House which has the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening condition. The hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family.

A junior blaze student has recently lost his year long battle with Cancer and was cared for at Helen & Douglas House during his battle with the illness.

The charity relies soley on donations and without ongoing support will be unable to continue with their inspirational and vital work.
