Story
In August I'm running the "Courmayeur Champex Chamonix", a 100km foot race in the Alps with 6,000m of ascent. The course starts in Italy, passing through Switzerland and finishing in France. The organisers describe it as: "A race deep into wilderness, with numerous passages of high altitude (>2500m), in difficult weather conditions (night, wind, cold, rain or snow), that needs very good training, adapted equipment and a real capacity of personal autonomy. The CCC® is a unique race that is one of the most prestigious in the world."
Being such a difficult event, I have one goal: To finish. I'll be running with my mate Brandon and expect to be running for about 23 hours.
I'm raising money for the National Deaf Children's Society. Both our boys were born with hearing loss; Kieran's is severe and Harry's is moderate. They will both always wear hearing aids. The NDCS aims to remove barriers to children with hearing loss, so they can achieve anything that other children can.
