Tough Mudder 5K South London - Clapham · 12 October 2018 to 13 October 2018 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Dearest friend,

I will be soon taking part in the Clapham Tough Mudder, aiming to raise funding for our beloved Prince’s Trust, a charity that empowers youth in employment and education.

When signing up to the initiative, it wasn’t fully clear to me what a tough mudder is. In Italy, my homeland, we have many strange things, but not muddy stuff. So, I had no idea that it means running for five kilometers in the mud, overcoming 10 “world-class obstacles” such as the Ladder To Hell. I didn’t know it was going to be outdoor, in October, in the evening. I only discovered afterward, that most of participants dress up as Vikings or soldiers and compete for who is toughest, running across fire and electrically charged circuits. I had no idea that things like the “Beer Finisher”, get a free beer if you make it to the end, exist.

But I signed. And I trained. And I will be among the mad crowd risking life and health to provide a better future for the new generation.

So, my suggestion is, show your love before it’s too late.

Thank you.

And hopefully, see you soon.
