Unfortunately due to injury I won't be able to run the 2011 London Marathon - gutted.
I am hoping to defer my place to 2012 however so providing I am fully recovered I'll try again then......
If so, I will continue to donate all sponsorship to the Hope Community Centre in Kenya. Many thanks to those who have sponsored me already, it is much appreciated (and I won't ask you again next year!).
The Hope Community Centre is near Naivasha in central Kenya. The centre houses over 200 children, including 22 orphaned babies. Many of the children have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, their mothers have died in childbirth, or they have been abandoned because their families are too poor to care for them, and they have been rescued from the streets of Kenya’s cities. At the centre the children have somewhere safe to live, food to eat, a chance to go to school and someone to care for them.
To give you an idea of how your donation will help:
£20 will house and educate a child or baby at the Hope Community Centre for a month.
£50 will help provide the additional food needed to feed 3 babies for one year.
£100 will provide the consultancy and appropriate medicine for a baby for one year.
Please give generously!
