Story

Well..........I've done it !!!!!!!!

After performing in 2 shows, in Darlington! I got in the car, with my absolutely amazing parents, they drove me the 4 1/2 hours back to London so I could rest! I got into my flat in Wimbledon at 3am! And got up at 6am for the big day!

Wow, what a day!!! The atmoshphere and the support from the crowd was absolutely amazing!

I saw my family and the gorgeous Chris at miles 18, 23 and 25, and some wonderful friends at 23! A well needed boost, they were all wonderful and supporting and cheering and it really got me through it!

I got injured 4 weeks ago after a 17 mile training run! I had a cortisone shot in my knee and an injection in my hip a week ago, knees were great, but unfortunately my trapped nerve pain in my hip came on at mile 1.1 ! Somehow, I managed to power walk/shuffle/jog the 26.2 miles and when the medal was put around my neck after a slow but proud 6 hrs 38 minutes, I burst into tears!

I knew when the pain came on I had to rethink my goal of a 5hr 30 Marathon, so the goal became to just get round! I'm thrilled I could finish and that I've raised this money for this incredible charity!! An amazing day.

Please continue to give generously to this worthwhile cause! And thank you so much to all who have donated.

The Isabel Hospice - provides FREE local care for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in East Hertfordshire as well as offering a Family Support Team for adults, children and carers facing loss.

They need to raise just over £4 million a year, which is why I am asking for your help!

I have been around and aware of the Hospice's work all my life, as my mother was Chairman of the Isabel Hospice, is now their President (Not the President of the USA, but those of you who know her - just give it time....!) and actually won an MBE for her services to them, of which I am incredibly proud! It's an amazing charity.

I am proud to have run the marathon for them, the work I have seen them do, the care of the nurses and everyone involved always astounds me. Sadly most of us know someone, or of someone, who has been affected by Cancer. My aunt Tricia, sadly died in 2010, but was cared for, by the Hospice in America. She could stay in her own home and they were just wonderful to her. It was amazing and comforting to know that she was getting such professional and incredible care.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you so much.
