Story

The Dharma Tape History Detectives are a group of about 10 folks from the San Francisco Buddhist Center sangha. Our goal is to reveal what's on Free Buddhist Audio's cassette archives while raising money for the site!

The result of our effort will be recordings, mostly by women in the Order, that have been restored to broadcast quality and transcribed. Both audio and transcripts will be posted permanently on the site over the course of the next several months.

The process of digitizing, transcribing, & copy editing talks will take about ten hours per cassette. If you (alone or with a group of friends) sponsor a recording at ₤30, that's ₤3 an hour -- quite a bargain! Any amount will start the process, though, so don't be afraid to offer a smaller amount.

Choose a talk from the list below, send an email to mary@freebuddhistaudio.com with your selection, and the Detectives will start our work! You're also welcome to sponsor the general effort rather than a specific talk. Thanks for your support; we're excited to listen to the tapes and make them available to everyone online.
