As many of you will already know the Coast2Coast bike ride has been organised in memory of our dear friend Katy Taylor who lost her brave fight with cancer in October 2011, aged just 37.

We will be pedalling from Whitehaven, Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in Whitby over 3 days in early July to raise as much money as we can for the Nottingham Breast Institute and Breast Cancer Research Fund.

I'm trying to put in as many training miles as I can to ensure the shock to my system isn't too great on the event, but as this promises to be the most strenuous thing I've done for years I'm sure there will be blood, sweat and tears, although hopefully not all at once! I'm really looking forward to the challenge, and I really hope you can give me a little extra boost to my motivation with some sponsorship.. so please dig deep and donate now!
