Our beautiful and very clever daughter, Matilda, was born in December, 2009 and has Down’s Syndrome.
Down syndrome is the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome.
Down's syndrome is a life-long condition that causes delays in learning and development that cannot be cured. Like any other child, our babies vary in their abilities and achievements. The problems can be eased with the right help and a positive and accepting attitude to Down's syndrome.
To help Matilda’s development, we take her to Downright Excellent on a weekly basis.
Downright Excellent provides educational sessions and quality play experiences for children with Down’s syndrome and their siblings. Downright Excellent follows the teaching programme of Down Syndrome Education International, who regularly visits and evaluate our group, in order to maintain their excellence, based on their cutting edge research.
