London to Brighton Challenge 2018 · 26 May 2018 to 27 May 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On May 26th 2018 at approximately 8:30am I will set off from Old Deer Park in Richmond on a continuous 100km endurance walk, ending in Brighton. I'm doing this to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support, an exceptional charity that supports people with cancer from diagnoses, through treatment and beyond.
Back in 2011 I walked 3000 miles around South America on an epic journey that took me through four countries. 3000 miles is a long way, but the most I ever walked in one day was around 25 miles (40km's) and I was absolutely shattered. Walking more than double that amount, through one day and night (without sleep) is going to be quite a challenge to say the least, but I'll have 12 work colleagues from the Pensions Regulator with me to share this incredible experience.
As a team we are hoping to raise £10,000 for our chosen charities, and that, dear reader, is where you come in! Please please help me, help us achieve our fundraising goal and make all the pain and blisters worth while.
There will be tears and moments of utter despair, but knowing that I am raising money to help people less fortunate than me is a strong motivating force that will carry my aching feet over the finish line.
Thank you for your support.
Matt
