What am I doing?
A 110-mile run (Yes, that's one hundred and ten miles!), non-stop, off-road, around the Cleveland way on the North York Moors.
That's four marathons and a 10K, back-to-back. In a 36-hour time limit
But it's not as easy as that!! There's 20,000 feet of climbing involved. That's equal to 'up and over' Ben Nevis more than four times.!!
When am I doing this?
The weekend of 25th September. It's a race called the HARDMOORS 110.
Starting on the Friday evening I will have to run all through Friday night, all day Saturday, and probably Saturday night aswell.
Joining me on this madness are my trusty support crew of Mal Gibb and Vin Vanwoerkom. They too will have to work non-stop throughout the event, driving between checkpoints, monitoring my hydration, nutrition and health, and are my lifeline should things go wrong on the moors.
This must surely be worth a pound or two!! So please dig deep, and be proud to have helped research into prevention and treatment of this disease that will strike one-in-three of us.
If you are interested in reading our blog about preparation and training for this event you can find it at www.therunningbug.co.uk Hardmoors blog.
