We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

After the success of 5gorunning last year welcome to 2 still standing.

Last year Cath & Matt's Great North Run adventure ended when they simultaneously crossed the line in 1hr 54 mins and 28 seconds - not bad huh? Well they felt pretty good about it. Then during post race discussion and after a glass or two of red wine (it's part of your five a day you know?) it was decided that they started too far back and actually ran 15+ miles overtaking people - including that amazing televised passing manouvre on Jim Rosenthal 20metres from the finish - so if they started in the right time zone and trained longer and harder what would be achievable.

1 hour 30.

So that's what they've been up to all summer, training, really hard, sometimes nearly twice a week!

Here comes the personal bit!

We appreciate that times are tough at the mo' and priorities may lie elsewhere, all we ask is for a pound or two (less than a pint!) or a message of support, if you can do both that'd be fantastic. All joking aside we are really going for it this year and all encouragement really does help and every single penny donated will go to an amazing cause.

Matt is running in memory of Mike Baker who lost his fight to leukemia a week before the run aged 34.

Thanks so much for taking a minute to read this and thanks for your support.
