<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;">As a lot of you will already know, my wife Sarah was diagnosed as having multiple sclerosis in January 2009.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There is no cure for MS, but there are many treatments available to relieve the symptoms. As well as the conventional NHS treatments, there are other treatments available to people with MS through therapy centres, which are charity funded and rely heavily on donations.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;">It was suggested to us that Oxygen Therapy may be of some benefit to Sarah, and so we thought we would give it a try, as anything that may help can only be good.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Unfortunately, this treatment is not available at many centres.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The closest centre providing this treatment is Harrow MS Therapy Centre, which Sarah has attended since May 2010.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;">The Centre also provides other treatments (such as physiotherapy) to people with MS and is a source of information and advice.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Centre only asks for donations from people for the provision of treatments and is running at a loss.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The staff and volunteers working at the centre are brilliant and a great support to many people.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;">I thought that it would be good to give something back and decided to run the London Marathon for the Harrow MS Therapy Centre.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I don’t do running but if I’m going to be sponsored for something, it may as well be something that will really challenge me and will be a real achievement.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt;">So, please give generously to a very good cause that is close to my heart and thanks to you all for your support.</span></p> <p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
