At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am running the Greater Manchester 10km with the University of Manchester "Purple Wave" to raise money for the Alzheimer's society.

I am running in memory of my grandma, Brenda Hobbs, who passed away in December 2016. She was diagnosed with dementia during the final years of her life.

Seeing this demonstrated to me the importance of organisations like the Alzheimer's society, who provide services for those with dementia and their carers, raise awareness and fund research into causes, prevention and in pursuit of a cure.
