ME Research UK exists solely to fund high quality biomedical studies into the causes and treatment of ME/CFS. This illness affects approximately 250,000 people in the UK but is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised. We fund highly regarded, peer-reviewed research worldwide.

Story

Less that 4 days to go until I take up the challenge I have been waiting for all year! Running from London to Brighton (56 Miles) in under 13 hours!! Please sponsor if you havent already!! Thank you!

Less that 4 days to go until the main please sponsor if you havent already!!

On the 22th September 2013 I am going to be participating in an Ultra Marathon (56 Miles) event in under 13 hours!

My mum has had a condition called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) for over 12 years. It is a condition which affects 120,000 to 240,000 people in the UK. The condition lasts for a minimum of 6 months and most that are unfortunate enough to have it, have it for life. The symptoms of ME are similar to MS and some people can be left bed bound for years.

I will be raising money for the charity ME Research UK (http://www.meresearch.org.uk/index.html). This charity carries out research to look into the causes, consequences and treatment of the condition.

I have never actually completed a marathon so this will be a real challenege for me. Throughout 2013 I will also be participating in Keswick to Barrow (40 Miles), The 4 Inns (40 Miles) and Tough Mudder (12 Mile Assault corse) as training for the event along with other Marathons!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
