At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

To support our (national grid) partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, we have put together a
National Grid Grand Tour cycle event.

This is a multi-day, multi-stage event, with over 1,300 km of open roads and
13,000m of climbing. The event is scheduled to take place from Monday 4 to
Wednesday 13 September and is a fantastic opportunity to ride through our
networks, cycling in beautiful countryside and tackling challenging hills!

Each of the 11 stages will start and end at our main gas and electricity sites.                                                                                                                  The first stage will start at St Fergus on Monday 4 September and the challenge ends at the Isle
of Grain on Wednesday 13 September.

The money raised will go towards our commitment to raise £250k for
Alzheimer’s Society – enabling Dementia Support Workers to provide
practical and emotional support to individuals and their families affected by
dementia.
