The UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust exists to support the work of the UCL Cancer Institute. We aim to improve the quality of life and survival of those with cancer, and to develop a generation of new, more effective targeted and individualised treatments.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We're raising money in memory of our dear, dear friend Natalie, who lost her long battle with breast cancer two days before her 40th birthday, in February 2011. She leaves two beautiful children, Olivia and Max.

In march, my band, the Matt Wates Sextet, and I recorded Talia's Song, a CD dedicated to Natalie and featuring music that I wrote in the 18 months or so that I knew her. We had already sold about 40 copies of the CD by the time we gave a concert at the Bull's Head, in Barnes, south west London, on 14th May, where we sold about another 75. The proceeds from the sale of the CD, together with the proceeds from tickets for the concert, and the raffle, meant we were then able to present the Natalie Fund at UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust with a cheque for £3070. We are hoping that, fairly soon, we may be able to provide the means of purchasing a permanent piece of laboratory equipment that will assist in breast cancer research for years to come. So please give generously! All donations will go to the Natalie Fund. If you'd like a copy of the CD, please leave me a message.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
