Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My dad and me (and anybody that might like to join us along the way) are doing a 100km walk across the South Downs in memory of my father-in-law Roger, it’s a walk that we had planned to do before he fell ill and we sadly lost him Christmas Eve 2020 to Motor Neurones Disease, so we are taking this opportunity to try and raise as much money and awareness about this awful disease as possible.. So please help us with anything you may be able to spare. Thank you.
Here’s what Rachel (my wife, Rogers daughter) has said.......
......My Dad had always loved walking and one of his ambitions was to walk this walk!! Unfortunately after a trial training session, a pair of expensive walking boots and a couple of pairs of super expensive socks, he began to think he was just too old to complete it!! It wasn’t until a while later it became apparent that this wasn’t just old age. Dad was fighting motor neurone disease but wasn’t diagnosed until 18 months later. He lost this tremendous battle after a short 11 months. Matt and my father in law Neil, are aiming to complete this walk in his memory. Matt will wear his expensive walking boots as Dad would have hated the thought of wasting all that money 🤣 Please have a read and as always, any amount would be grately received. This disease has no cure or medication. It needs more research and investigation to stop lives being taken with zero chance of survival. Thanks for reading 😘
