I'm riding from London to Paris (200+ miles!!) to try and do a little bit to raise money for Diabetes UK, My father was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few years ago, and while he's a fairly fit chap, and has got his head around the medication very well, the work that Diabetes UK does may one day mean that he can forget all about it, which would be nice.
It isn't just type 2 Diabetes though, recently an old friend of mine passed away due to complications linked to his type 1 diabetes. He had, had the disease since he was a young boy, it had cost him his sight and one of his legs. Diabetes UK are pioneering work that may yield a cure to this disease, and help people like my Dad, so please if you can, spare £1. Or if you've got a spare million lying about, we'll take that too.
