Mission RASI · 30 April 2015 ·

Founded in 1856 and funded entirely by voluntary donations, The Mission to Seafarers offers emergency assistance and support to crews around the world. Whether victims of piracy or those shipwrecked or stranded, we’re there for the globe’s merchant seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  We plan to circumnavigate, as a team, around Singapore's 140km coastline within 24 hours in two classic ocean-going rowing boats.

This is going to be a big task and has a suitably big fundraising target, so any donations are greatly appreciated.  I got into the project quite recently, but I know a lot of people have put a lot of time and effort into making this happen.

I've witnessed some of the living and working conditions seafarers have to endure.  Some of these environments can be poorly maintained and dangerous.  The work is hard and these guys can spend long periods away from home.  In spite of this, often the guys we meet while working are smiley and get on with the hard work and heavy lifting!

I've provided some links below, but basically mission to seafarers is a charity that helps and supports seafarers in ports all around the world.  the money raised will go a long way towards funding the operation of the charity.

I think it's a great charity to support and would encourage you to give as generously as you can!

Cheers

Matt
