Tough Mudder London South · 25 October 2014 to 26 October 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi! This October 25 I am running Tough Mudder (with my team Pure Filth!) both in an effort to get fit (we've been training hard now for nearly 4 months), but also in memory of a friend (and Adopt-A-Gran) I lost earlier this year... Lorna Young. Lorna was an amazing woman and the Gran of one of my best friend's Warren Young. Over the last 9 years I got to know her well with birthday celebrations,  her trips to London, my trips to Oundle and especially our Christmases together with the Young Family. She was such a lively lady and told the most amazing stories of her fantastic life and travels through England, India and Africa. Towards the end of her 90 strong years she sadly lost so much of those memories and also lost a lot of her independence to this condition we know as Alzeimers. It would be great to give back some money for more research and support for those people whose mums, grans, fathers and grandfathers may suffer this in the future. Hopefully giving them a better quality of life (when they need it most).  I hope you'll support me on my run, but more importantly support this very worthwhile cause that is close to my heart with me.

My charity of choice is the Alzheimer's Society,

Thanks so much in advance,
Matt Greig
