Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It has been my ambition to take part in the London Marthon for a number of years and this year I have been fortunate in getting the opportunity to run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in aid of Sense International.
Sense International provides specialist education, training and support to deafblind people, their families and carers in developing countries. Deafblindness can be a severely isolating condition and in developing countries, poverty combined with limited health care, education and social support make it even more difficult for deafblind people and their families to cope. As a result, many deafblind children and adults are institutionalised, kept in isolation or abandoned.
With basic support and education, deafblind people can and do communicate, go to school, support themselves and become valued members of their communities.
Sense International makes this happen by strengthening the abilities of families, local organisations and professionals in developing countries to meet the needs of deafblind people in their communities.

As part of my training plan I will also be running the Silverstone Half Marathon on 14th March 2009.
Update - 15th February: This week marks 10 weeks until the big day and the long runs are starting, this week I am aiming to complete a 7 mile and a 10 mile run with a 3 mile and 5 mile run inbetween as well as swimming and weight work. This week is also 4 weeks until the Silverstone half marathon so this weeks training should put me on plan for that event.
