Thanks for taking a look at this!
I wanted to do this to challenge myself with a run. I know people are looking at this and looking at June and thinking "what's 3 miles in comparison with the 40 you did 6 months back?" so I'll answer that question here. It's simple really, I could quite happily cycle 20/25 maybe 30 miles at a push (happily), but running is completely different for me. I've always struggled with pacing myself, I always get bored to be honest and I've always preferred sprinting. In the past when I've been to these sort of events to support mum, I've always quite enjoyed it really and thought at the end "I'd like to give something like this a try" so now, I'm just going to try it. Having the opportunity to try it is something that I'm actually really looking forward to. I thought that I might as well set up this page to try and get the charities I'm actually running for even a little bit of money because you know, every penny helps. So if you're a student and a penny is all you can give, I'll happily take that!
The ITV text Santa appeal raises money for Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-Kidz. I'm not expecting to get anywhere near the £2717.66 mark that we hit with the bike ride, so I've set my target for £50 here.
Thanks for your support!
