We exist solely to support The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, looking after veterans, serving soldiers and families within our Airborne community. We're there for our nation’s paratroopers through the good and the bad, from the moment they join our family to the sounding of the last post.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I first had the idea to try an IRONMAN when I turned 30 in 2011 although at that point I was far from fit enough to even contemplate signing up and it was very much a long term goal. I intend to, finally, attempt UK IRONMAN in July 2019, which will be 25 years since my Grandfather passed away. I've built up over the years from run/walking a 10K in 2011, to running the Paras10 in 2012, tabbing it in 2013, the Fan Dance in January 2014 and finally marathon's from summer 2014 to present.

Before all of that however, I am registered for Slateman Savage in May 2018 (400m swim, 20km cycle, 6km run Saturday followed by 1km swim, 51km cycle, 11km run Sunday in Snowdonia, Wales) as a "warm up" and I intend to enter IRONMAN Edinburgh 70.3 and IRONMAN Weymouth 70.3 when 2018's events open for entry. To get me focussed and back in to training I have the Great Scottish (Glasgow) half marathon and Morpeth 2 Newcastle marathon in October 2017.

I'm not ex-military personally but my chosen charity is to pay tribute to my Grandfather. He served in the Army (Fusiliers) during WW II and was my father figure growing up. He passed away of an unexpected heart attack when I was 12. Prior to that I'd talked to him often about finishing school and trying for the Paras. It took a long time for me to come to terms with his passing and, at an impressionable age, without his presence my career plans slowly started changing.

Thank you for your support, I very much appreciate it.
