Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you are aware my Mum, Wendy Anderson was diagnosed with an untreatable brain tumour in April 2009. For the first two months she was looked after at home but as the 'illness' intensified staying at home was no longer an option. We were very fortunate to be offered a place at St.Leonards Hospice were she spent the remaining four weeks of her life.
She was treated with the upmost care and affection in a surrounding of a *****Star hotel. The staff and volunteers are all fantastic and carry out there work in such a warm and friendly manner.
In my mind there are two words that people do not want to hear in life, cancer and Hospice. Having experienced this and seeing how the Hospice works I am aiming to raise some money to aid the continued operation of St.Leonards.
On April 17th this year I will be dusting off the old trainers and pounding the streets to run the 26.2 miles that is THE LONDON MARATHON!! I have obtained a ballot place that means that EVERY PENNY raised will go St.Leonards
If possible please support me by sponsoring me for this mammoth task and by doing so knowing that your money will be going to a very worthy cause that is there to look after people in the York and surrounding areas.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
