Three Peaks Challenge · 25 June 2010

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire, caring for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

Story

As someone who has, unwittingly or otherwise, made it into the heady heights of my contact list, I implore your support for a good cause. I know we are all inundated with requests for charitable support, but would ask you to think of it as paying to see me suffer, (=sport), rather than charity, as I attempt to complete the Three Peaks Challenge on June 25th.

Born on a night of excessive imbibing, myself and a similar bunch of oldies are now going to drag ourselves up the 3 highest mountains of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell) and Wales (Snowdon), all in 24 hours. This means three challenging ascents, driving the length of the country inbetween hikes, and at least one of them completed during the night. No time for tea and ginger biscuits, just chafing thighs and high body odour all round.

I am doing this for Chestnut Tree House Hospice, the only children's hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the county. If you could be kind enough to support me/them, it will be much appreciated. Many thanks.
