Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

The Rainforest Foundation UK aims to protect tropical rainforests by working with those who know the forest best – indigenous peoples and traditional forest dwellers. By supporting them, we're taking a major step forward in the battle to combat climate change.

Story

I'm Running the 2010 London Marathon for Rainforest Foundation UK.

I realise money doesn't grow on trees... especially at the moment when we are all trying to make elms meet.

But it would mean a great deal to me and the environment if you could dig deep (to get to the root of the problem) and support a worthy cause.

After all If a tree falls in the forest I want someone there to hear it... to not give would be considered High Treeson!

Massive thanks!
Matt
P.S. My running will be better than my wooden jokes... promise!

ABOUT THE RAINFOREST FOUNDATION UK

Every year an area of rainforest the size of England and Wales is cut down.

This leaves local people homeless, drives animals and plants to extinction and...

releases more CO2 emissions, which cause climate change, than all of the world’s planes, trains and cars.

RFUK works to support Indigenous Peoples and traditional populations of the world’s rainforests in their effort  to protect the environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihood.

Raising £1800 in Sponsorship will help us to:

protect 72 acres of Rainforest (an area bigger than St. James Park in London)

buy 18 GPS system for mapping project

 ID paperwork for 90 people

36 visas for IPs to take part in climate negotiations
