Story

This is it! It's now or never.

Diagnosed with a degenerative back disorder in December and informed not to run by my consultant, this is the one and only chance I'll ever have to run a marathon, let alone the London Marathon. So I want to make it as worthwhile an experience as I can. Part of that is to raise some money for a charity that has really helped Sue and I give Efa a fantastic start in life through their network of children's centres, informative workshops and access to a dedicated team of exceptionally helpful health visitors.

However Ormiston haven't just helped us, in the last year they have helped over 64,000 children, young people and families across the East of England. Children, young people and families who need support but are often overlooked by other organisations and service. For example, children who are caring for a parent with disabilities or who are dependent on alcohol or drugs, or those young people and families that have been affected by crime. Not glamous, but for those they help, essential.

So here's the JustGiving small print...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

And here's a final plea from me. I know times are hard, but please dig as deep as you can and donate now. I know I'm going to have to dig really deep on the 22nd April to make it round and hope that my back holds out!!! And then I'll be hanging up my trainers for good.
