Brighton Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·

MPN Voice leads the way in supporting people with rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), with accurate information and emotional support. We're funding research toward better treatments and one day a cure. Most importantly we offer hope to those affected by MPNs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 15th April 2012, in support of 'MPD-Voice', a charity which supports those suffering with myeloproliferative disorders (MPDs). MPDs are rare blood conditions which can affect all kinds of people at any age. They are sometimes categorised as cancers of the blood, with some patients going on to develop related conditions such as myeloid leukemia. Invariably, patients suffer from anaemia and low energy levels, which render a sufferer's immune system vulnerable to attack and can cause previously routine physical exercise to become impossible and often dangerous.

MPDs are treatable, but as yet there is no cure and the effects of suffering with an MPD are life changing. Everyone involved with MPD-Voice is a volunteer and every penny dedicated to the vital research is raised via voluntary donations.

Many thanks for your support.
