2010 British 10K London run · 11 July 2010 ·

The Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) Society is the leading global charity dedicated to providing information and support to all those affected by CGD. The charity funds a clinical nurse specialist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and responds to enquires from all over the world.

Story

CGD is a genetic disease. Affected people develop infections and, without treatment, usually do not survive beyond their 30s. Fortunately treatments have improved dramatically over the last few years. Many young people have been cured by having bone marrow transplants. For those that do not have a suitable bone marrow donor, gene therapy is a possibility. Researchers at Great Ormond Street in London are world leaders in this promising technology.

Linda and Matthew are doing the British 10k in July to raise money for the CGD Research Trust. Your donations will help make vital breakthroughs.
