The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Welcome to The Chaptain's Justgiving Page. At the end of August I will be setting off from Newcastle to cycle to Paris, on a penny farthing! This will be my second attempt, unfortunately I had a bit of an accident before setting off last time and managed to smash my collarbone which required surgery and some lovely metal bars! A few years ago I cycled across the country on a penny and felt it was about time to get back in the saddle, so I bought a new bike, a bigger bike, actually a much bigger bike! And not being content with travelling across the country I thought I should cycle most of the way down it, and into somebody elses, a vintage invasion if you like. The charity I'm supporting carry out amazing work, work that my family experienced first hand whilst my cousin Jamie was in hospital a few years ago before he sadly passed away. Those who have children, or would like to one day, can only imagine how hard it would be if they were ill in hospital and a long way from home. The Sick Children's Trust provide 'Homes from Home' at hospitals around the country, so that families can stay together during these difficult times. Having that sort of service is invaluable, and I truly believe that they deserve our support. Please sponsor me with this challenge and help this wonderful charity! Thank you!
