Cardiac Risk in the Young Verified by JustGiving

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I'm running the Virgin London Marathon for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

It means a lot to me to be running for them, as one of the first people I ever met when I got involved with the sport seven years ago as a young athlete, tragically died from an undetectable and unknown heart condition. It was truly heart-breaking to all who knew her, not to mention her family. It was particularly sad on a personal level, as she was very kind to me when I first joined the club, and who knows, I may not be involved in the sport today, if it wasn't for her initial kindness.

CRY was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD); Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS, SADS) and is the only charity of its kind in the field.

So if you have the time, please donate (no matter how small an amount) to this wonderful charity, and in return I'll run my heart out in memory of someone who should still be here today.
