Scotland Coast to Coast 2011 · 17 September 2011 ·

The University of Birmingham is committed to finding solutions to global challenges, including cancer, global infection and the development of our future leaders. As one of the broadest reaching charities in the UK, we are tackling issues that affect us all.

Story

With just my two old legs, a mountain bike, and a kayak, I will attempt to cross the Scottish Highlands from East to West Coast over two terrifying days - all that stands in my way is 105 miles (including a marathon-worth on foot), the weather, and some of Scotland's most iconic locations: Loch Ness, The Great Glen and Ben Nevis!

Oh, and just for a laugh I'll then do the Birmingham half marathon in October with staff, students, and alumni from the University of Birmingham. Why?............

Well, I’m hoping that you will sponsor me to support the outstanding Cancer research team at the University of Birmingham.  The University’s cancer researchers are saving lives daily, not just in Birmingham but across the UK and the world in areas such as:

·         breast cancer;

·         childhood cancer;

·         bladder cancer;

·         and leukemia.

Your support will help them to continue their work so that many more lives can be saved.

Thanks for your support and please remember to tick the Gift Aid box!

Cheers - Matt
