Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon · 9 October 2016 ·
Thinking that it would be a great idea to introduce a tangible goal to my battle against advancing Middle Age, Citi provided me with a perfect opportunity with its organised team for the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Along with 165 other Citi employees, I am (in the most liberal interpretation of the word) running in this event on Sunday, 9th October.
One of the conditions for membership in Citi's team of runners is that I agree to raise £400 for Cancer Research UK.
Citi couldn't have chosen a more worthy cause, and I don't think that I need to go into any great detail on what a great organisation this is. Like most people, I have lost people close to me to cancer, and I have seen first-hand the devastation wrought by this disease, and the cruel variety of ways it does so. I have also seen the steady advance of medical technology over the years, and the fact that many people who are diagnosed with cancer now have more of a fighting chance of beating it.
So, by choosing to sponsor me in this half marathon, you could not be donating to a better cause.
