Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Helen Hughes convinced me that doing a 26 mile jog round Dublin at the end of October was a good thing. I am still not sure that it is, but am signed up for it now so can't get out of it.  I have even had to do some training. Running through Salford in an evening is good practise. It is amazing how fast you can go when you need to.

It is a good opportunity to raise some funds for Prospects.

There are over 1.5 million people in the UK with learning disabilities and these tend to be among the poorest and least socially engaged people in the country. One of their biggest challenges is to have friendship relationships and get involved in social leisure activities.  Prospects provides weekend ‘holiday‘ breaks and a one week summer holiday for people with learning disabilities.  These events provide a unique opportunity in the lives of many who attend to make friends and engage socially.

Prospects are looking to expand these opportunities over the next few years so any funds raised will be used put towards this and supporting part of the cost for people to attend these breaks.
