Matthew Tomlinson and Richie Bridges are training to complete the END 2 END challenge in May 2010. This will involve cyclng a minimum of 874 miles from John O'Groats to Lands Ends.  Most groups complete the challenge over 10 days, however Matt and Richie are planning to finish within 4 days maintaining  an average of 14 hours cycling per day!

My backgound:  I used to be a county sprinter for Bournemouth Athletics Club when I was younger, then just attended the gym everyday to maintain fitness levels.  I decided 3 years ago to take up extreme fitness challenges, as I needed  that physical & mental challenge and since then, I have achieved the following: Walking around the costal path of the Isle of Wight, 72 Miles in 2.5 days, the three peaks and recently I did my first Ultra Marathon, which consisted of 32 miles from Weymouth to swanage along the coastal path.  I have done a few half marathons since then and have the Paris Marathon in April 2010.  My most memorable event was the Great South Run 2009, running for CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA.  It was a fantastic day and I managed to raise £300 towards the charity out of the 200 people running for them.

So with my background in mind,  I thought this END 2 END challenge would be a great opportunity to give something back to a very close friend and his suffering daughter, Mollie.

Please kindly dig deep into your pockets for this worth while charity.

Kind regards

Matthew
