Story
How do you start, where do you start when writing about the most precious person in our lives.
Matthew was not just our shining star, he was everyone's. Wherever he went people loved him. He was kind, he was funny and charismatic. And adored by his family and friends.
Matthew was born with cystic Fibrosis which is a genetic condition where the lungs and digestive system becomes clogged with mucus. Unfortunately for our precious boy there is no cure. Treatment is long and painful not only for the person but their loved ones. It truly is a cruel disease. When Matthew was 13 is hero passed away and Matthew was given he's new liver, adding 15 wonderful years onto he's precious life.
Unfortunately Matthew's body started to give up the order he got, suffering from diabetes which eventually confided him to a hospital bed. He's fight was a world champion one, and one we though the was winning, but the battle was sadly lost at 2.20am on the 10th August 2015 when our beautiful boy was taken from us. The comfort we now have is he went peacefully, surrounded by those he loved, those he laughed with, danced with and cried with.
Matt also shared a love for our wonderful charity. When You Wish Upon a Star, which has the mission to grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses, just like many families this marvellous charity has helped. It also helped ours, not only with a wish but with Love, support and true friendship.
Matthew's funeral will be held on Friday 21st August 2015 at Hatherlow Church, Otterspool Road, SK6 3DR. As a family we would ask you don't pay your respects with flowers but donations to the charity that has helped us through the most painful and horrendous time. We hope with all your help some lucky family can share family memories like we now cherish. On behalf of our beautiful strong and wonderful boy we Thank you
