Story
Hi there,
I am running the London Marathon this April and will be raising money for the St Clares Hospice- a local hospice located in Harlow who are specialists in caring for people who have terminal illnesses such as cancer, neurological disease or organ failure.
People do choose to spend their last moments at the hospice, having their symptoms controlled, ensuring comfort and dignity.
The service that they provide is free for the patient and their careers, but costs them over 2 million every year. The NHS donates 30% of this huge sum, so they must raise the rest of the money themselves to keep going.
Here is the web site address of the hospice: http://www.stclare-hospice.co.uk/index.html
I am a 23 year old electrician working in Harlow and this will be my first marathon (although I have done several triathlons / half marathons), and would love to raise money for a very good cause at the same time- just so you know a little bit about me.
Thankyou all very much for your kind donations, it is greatly appriciated.
(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity)
