Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am attempting to complete the round Strathaven 50 cycle challenge for SCIAF's North East Africa appeal.

I can hardly bear to watch the TV coverage or read the newspaper reports about this unfolding tragedy and I can not believe that all these years later it is happening to these same nations again.

Whenever I am feeling sorry for myself or complaining that life is hard I look at these images and think ... No watching your child cry with hunger and not be able to do anything about it, that's hard, to walk 21 days carrying your child to medical care only to have them die as you arrive, that's hard. Not my wonderful comfortable life! - opposite of hard.

So what I am asking is that you support this essential cause by sponsoring me to cycle 50 miles. I will try my very hardest and I know that you will be very generous and maybe we can all pay back a little for the very good fortune we had not to be born in North East Africa.

Thank you so much my friends!

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)
