Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Shakespeare Hospice were very kind, loving and caring towards Maureen when she was alive, so I've decided to try to raise some money on their behalf.

I'm hoping people will sponsor me. This can be done via this website, or please feel free to contact me if you'd like to use the sponsorship forms from the Shakespeare Hospice - I'm hoping to raise at least £500.

I've decided to set myself a challenge, and cycle from Exton in Rutland (where Maureen was born) to Whitwell and then around Rutland Water - I anticipate that this will be approximately 30-35 miles.

I've been training for a few weeks now, and have covered 400 miles in the month of June, sometimes accompanied by my friend Andy Westmacott - there really is no substitute for simply "putting the miles in".

I anticipate that I'll complete my challenge in mid to late August, and will hopefully keep you updated regarding my progress.

Thanks again

Gordon

Update 8/7/09 - I've now covered over 500 miles in training - not bad for a 78 year old,eh?

Update 20/7/09 - I've now covered over 700 miles in training.
