We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

Our son Max was stillborn on May 7th 2019; it was the most heart-breaking and tragic moment of our lives. Sadly we are not alone. In the UK 1 in every 225 babies is stillborn and 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in loss. Every day 9 families hear the life-changing news that still rings in our heads and hearts - ‘there’s no heartbeat’. The risk of stillbirth in the US is even higher.

We wanted to do something positive in honour of our little boy. SANDS is a charity that both supports parents and families grieving the loss of a baby, and funds research to prevent further stillbirths and neonatal deaths. Having experienced the thoughtful support of this amazing charity in our darkest hours, we couldn’t think of a better cause to support in Max’s name.

James and I, along with my sisters Rose and Jose, will be running the Virgin 10k in London on 21st of July to raise money for SANDS. Anything you can donate for this wonderful cause would be much appreciated. Equally, if you would like to join us in London for the run, feel free to sign up.

Many thanks,

Martha and James
