Michael Steer is raising money for Cherubim Music Trust
In memory of Charles Steer

The Cherubim Music Trust was established in 2001. It was founded in response to the increasing difficulties faced by many of Britain¹s young musicians. By supporting young talent, Cherubim is helping a new generation of world-class musicians. Brought into existence by an initial donation from the Gosling Foundation, the Trust has gone from strength to strength, bridging a keenly-felt gap in the music world. Our aim is to help the next generation to take a vital step from talented student to fully fledged professional by providing a suitable instrument, which is often well beyond the young musician¹s reach.

Story

<p><a title="Cherubim" href="http://www.cherubimtrust.org/">Cherubim Music Trust </a>was founded by Clancy Steer in 2001 with support from the Gosling Foundation, in gratitude for a fairy godmother supplying a harp for our daughter Serafina. In the intervening period the Trust has bought over 20 instruments to loan to talented music students who cannot afford one of sufficient quality. <em>Now Cherubim has come full circle, and has just bought a concert harp for use by a Chethams student, such as Serafina once was.</em> Most of the &pound;17000 cost has come from the Promenaders' Music Charities; but we still need a further &pound;4000.</p> <p>In his earlier years Charles loved music, and remained proud of his grand-daughter's achievements on the harp even when he could no longer hear them! <strong>If we could raise the balance it would enable the Trust to name the new harp the "Promenaders - Charles Steer harp"</strong> - a conjunction that my father might not have expected to see in his lifetime, but which will leave a permanent and beautiful memory for future generations.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
