Story

Hi, my name is Maxwell Irvine, and before I continue with my 'Just Giving' story, I wish to thank you for visiting this page - be it the Little Princess Trust, Breast Cancer Awareness, Helping Hands Romania, or my Movember page - and for also sparing my chosen charities, your time & generosity.

Indeed, thank you very much xo

Firstly, a little introductory note about 'The Hair' & its hirsute look. Quite simply, I've let my hair grow uncut & unshaved since January 1st 2012. So almost 22mths to date, and, by the time I'll have let it all go - 23mths on the 1st day of December, 2013.

Basically, after nearly two years without my usual hair 'cut', this currently trending hirsute 'style', will be replaced by a rather more fashionable 'Grade 1' all over - but not all at once.

Now, if I sounded somewhat unappreciative of 'The Hair', be assured it has already proved an invaluable charitable asset, and I would be pleased to grow it again in future for the same reason - charity.

Moreover, on a personal level, the last two years have proven invaluable for me in ways I wouldn't start to count.

In short, much more so than even the hair has managed, I've managed to grow as a person - and considering how much of the hairy stuff there is, that's no mean feat(!)

So, having introduced The Hair's 'origin story', now would be an appropriate opportunity to summarise its final few chapters, for the four chosen charities.

The first, of the final four chapters, will be in aid of The Little Princess Trust. The LPT deal with the provision of real hair wigs, specifically for children who suffer hair loss. This charitable event simply involves the straightening of my curly hair, and then it being plaited for posting & donation.

Any donations to The LPT would be most welcomed, since each wig costs the charity roughly £350. The wigs themselves, however, can retail upwards of £2000. The LPT do a great job in providing these real hair wigs, and more information on their efforts is best found www.littleprincesses.org.uk on their website.

The second chapter, is for Breast Cancer Awareness. This event is an all day event held on the last Friday of October, known as 'Wear it Pink Day'. It is held as part of the charity's annual October campaign, and as the event's title suggests - I'll be wearing it pink.

The 'it' I'll be wearing this year, is only slightly different to last year's pink ensemble. Once again, I'll be dressing up as a 'Pink Cowboy' for the day - pink make-up, pink cowboy hat & the same self-styled T-shirt custom made for last year's fundraising. Although this year, I have an extra surprise planned.

An apt surprise, intended to not only raise an eyebrow or thirty three (doubtlessly) in surprise, but also awareness about breast cancer & the campaign itself for: 'The Girls'. And, seeing as 'Movember' follows shortly after Wear it Pink Day - testicular & prostate cancer for: 'The Boys', too.

The extra surprise, I can tell you, is not the beard being dyed pink.

But, moving swiftly on to the Friday Movember itself begins (the 1st of November), I will be seeking to style my first of THIRTY freshly styled 'Mos' - attempting one for each of Movember's 30 days - at an event held in a local bar: Speedy Mullan's.

This event, in aid of Helping Hands Romania, will be the third chapter overall - it will also be the main event, and here's why…

The beard, having been dyed pink for Wear it Pink Day & the week leading up to November 1st - will be plaited & finally SHORN OFF…

…all but for the moustache & the fourth 'Finale Chapter' itself - Movember & the many many, mighty Mos.

But then, Ladies & Gentlemen, on the first day of Xmas my true love will give to all (not just me or even a partridge in a pear tree), myself shaved…

…oh, so very 'clean-ly' :)

Once again, Ladies & Gentlemen, for giving my page (a not so short novel) the time & generosity it needed - thank you all xo
