Those that know me know that I’m probably one of the laziest people on this planet but this is no joke. On 21 October 2010, me and 20 other hopping mad PPL employees will be walking 21 miles from Hampton Court Place to the London Eye at Waterloo to raise money for our chosen charity of the year Thames 21!
Thames 21 is a great charity that helps Londoners look after the River Thames. There are thousands of volunteers out there who give up their evenings and weekends to clean up the river so please sponsor generously.
Just so you know just how much I will be suffering before thinking about putting your hand in your pocket, here are some facts:
The most I’ve ever walked in my life is 6 miles and that was only because there was a tube strike!
It’s only 5 miles less than the London Marathon!
It takes 20 minutes for a healthy person to walk 1 mile according to wiki! God knows how long i will take......
If you are able to sponsor me as little as 50p then it will all make a difference. I have pledged that I will raise a minimum of £100 for Thames 21 but whatever you can give would be very much appreciated!
The JustGiving bit...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many, many thanks for your support!
May
