After two days of relentless November rain, Sunday 15th dawned bright
and mild. All four team members put in a fantastic performance on a
very heavy course, with Danny being the first team member to finish,
crossing the line at 52.20, Simon next at 56.24, Bill 58.10 and
Colette 1.03.33, they are a credit to themselves, the town council and the charity. Hope you agree that their effort is worthy of generous acknowledgement!!
On November 15th, an intrepid band of four runners (see photos) representing Chesham Town Council will be taking part in the
Herbert's
Hole
10k Cross Country Challenge 'Fun Team' category and have generously offered to receive donations for their efforts on behalf of the Mayor's Charity. Town Clerk Bill Richards has done all the arm twisting, and will be followed (in your dreams Bill) by super-fit-but-not-a-runner Danny Essex, manager of the
Moor Gym and Swim, councillor Colette Littley, who says she hopes she won't quite double her previous time of 1 hour 1 minute, and my husband Simon, who claims he can at least quadruple his previous time of 45 minutes.......and am I sure he can even run a bath and do I know how old he is?
However long they take I'm really pleased it's them not me but particularly pleased because they want to raise money for this years mayoral charity
Shed @ the Park, an entirely inclusive youth theatre
workshop (appropriately their motto is 'anything is possible'). Echoing the Chickenshed ethos ‘anyone can thrive
in an environment where everyone is welcome’ their vision is to expand their current workshops to opening in the future: Shed Lane Tales; an outreach programme; an adult theatre company; additional workshops; and much, much more. Please help them continue to inspire, innovate and include. If you can't donate through this page, please pass your donation to any of the runners.
