Sycamore Trust aims to offer a range of services designed to support families, educate the community and empower individuals affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or Learning Disabilties to flourish and to be valued members of society.

Story

The Sycamore Trust was formed in 2014 following on from the successful merger in 2011 of two local charities:

  • Barking & Dagenham Mencap – who provided support for people affected by learning disabilities
  • Parents of Autistic Children Together (PACT) – which provided support for people affected by autism spectrum disorder

Since the merger, the organisation has grown and expanded the services and support it provides. The Trust currently offer a range of services specifically designed to support families and individuals affected by autism and learning difficulties. Services provided in Barking and Dagenham:

  • Youth Projects
  • Football and Multisport
  • Befriending
  • Support Work
  • 18-25 Social Group
  • Adult Social Groups
  • Family Support
  • Parent Support
  • Way2Say Project
  • Advocacy/Supervised Contact
  • Parenting Assessments
  • Family Activities
  • Training/Conferences
  • Autism Ambassadors Training Project
  • Parenting Pathways (for adults with LD)
