Mccauley & Cody raising for ALD Life · 15 March 2013

Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) was founded in 2004 by a mother whose two sons had been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. She recognised the severe lack of information and support available and wanted to make sure that no one had to face leukodystrophy alone.

Story

Brothers suffering from terminal brain disorder Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)

McCauley & Cody Riley both suffer from this termianl brain condition.  McCauleys condition has rapidly deteriorated since being diagnosed in 2011.

He is now blind and immobile and has to be tube fed. His older brother Cody was diagnosed in November 2012.  The disorder has not progressed as rapidly as McCauleys and Cody has undergone a bone marrow transplant that will not cure him but will stabilise his condition.

Those diagnosed with this condition usually become totaly diabled within 6 months to 2 years and die sometime after.

Time is prescious for this family along with many other families with children suffering from this terminal disorder.  We have set up this page to help raise money for both McCauley & Cody along with ALD life charity to help ease the financial burdens of these families and make the prescious time they have together as special as possible, giving their parents chance to spend time with their boys without any added worries.

We have had several gifts donated to us by celebrities off Dancing on Ice, (Beth Tweddle, Luke Campbell & Gareth Thomas have kindly donated signed gifts) along with ice skating lessons with Daniel Whiston & Karen Barber...  We are planning ways of using these for fundraising.

Thank you everyone who has donated items and those who are offering help
