Story

Hi,

Thanks for taking a look at my fundraising page.

I am taking part in a white water rafting experience on Saturday March 10 2012 to raise money for The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

You may not know this but one in 400 births are affected by cerebral palsy, a non-progressive condition that affects the brain and nervous system functions such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing, and thinking. The incurable condition is a result of injury to the brain before, during or shortly after birth.

There is no cure for the condition but treatment from an early age, such as occupational therapy and conductive education, can assist with encouraging children to lead independent lives and help with movement control.

I am raising money on behalf of the centre that use conductive education to encourage children's independence and develop their self-esteem and provide emotional support for parents. The money raised will go towards helping the centre provide children with the services and equipment they need.

Thank you for your contribution!
