British Airways i360 Abseil · 21 September 2019

We at Samaritans Brighton Hove and District support people in distress or despair. We listen day and night, 365 days a year, supporting 2000+ callers a month. We work in our community with those most vulnerable to suicide. We are all volunteers (no paid staff) and need £165 a day to keep open.

Story

For  those of you that don’t know, I will be abseiling down the Brighton i360 this Saturday.

Most 20 year olds would be out clubbing on a Saturday, however I’m using mine to abseil 450 feet down the Brighton i360!

It’s all in aid of the Samaritans to help them continue the incredible work they do on a day to day basis, helping people who think they have nowhere to go/ nothing left.

In the UK & Republic of Ireland, there were 6,859 suicides in 2018. In the UK, there were 6,507 suicides. In the Republic of Ireland, there were 352 suicides.

The Samaritans are working towards reducing these figures back down as they are constantly on the rise.

More funding means more equipment and facilities to help more suffering people.

Every 6 seconds a Samaritans volunteer answers a call for help.

Last year they received 5 million calls for help.

So please anything you can donate to this incredible cause would be highly appreciated and will help samaritans to save another soul.
