Meg is cycling to Berlin, yes, really.

Leeds RAG Bike to Berlin 2012-2013 (LOST) · 18 March 2013 to 25 March 2013 ·
Meg Owen, who spends too much of her time watching Jeremy Kyle and obsessing over Pride and Prejudice has decided to do something truly productive and purposeful with her life for the first time.
No word of a lie, I have decided to cycle to Berlin(!!!).
On the 18th March I will be setting off from Leeds, and cycling a total of 600 MILES (omg) to Berlin, arriving on the 25th. That's approximatley 85 miles a day. The thought of it is already hurting my bottom.
I imagine this journey will unfold in a Bridget Jones-esque manner; I am clumsy, a bit ditsy and not the fittest of girls in the world (unless you're talking about looks in which, of course, I am gorgeous. Obviously.). In simple terms, I'm going to struggle, A LOT.
I am doing this partly so I can prove to myself that I am not just a lazy couch-potato student. Quote my mother when I told her of this challenge, "But you don't get of bed until midday and won't even walk to the corner shop". Wow.
More importantly, I am doing this to raise money for a charity called SENSE (www.sense.org.uk). This organiasation provides help and advice to deafblind children and adults, and their families, vastly improving their quality of life. I can't begin to imagine what life would be like without a sense, let alone two, therefore I feel like this charity deserves huge support for everything they do, from providing communication techniques to housing and living options.
My dad has fixed me up with a beautiful bike (it's pink!!), and my grandparents have got me a lovely new helmet to go with it (which is also pink!). Combine this with my determination to prove my mum wrong, and the fact that I'm cycling for such a worthy cause, I'm sure I'll manage to successfully cycle the 600 miles, chaifs and all! (If not then I know a guy in the support van.)
So, if you think my endevours are deserving enough for your support, then please donate!
Many thanks, and lots of love,
Meg/Madge/Crazy gal.
